Member Appreciation Night Update

GolfSmith Tennis @ ParkMeadows hosted Flexible Tennis League's first ever "Member Appreciation Night" on Wednesday August 25th. Some cool Tennis gear was up for grabs and the players also participated in some trivia and games. Our players gleefully took advantage of some great deals on Tennis apparel.

Bala Srinivasan was lucky enough to win the brand new Babolat Aero Pro Drive GT.

Sridhar Ponnapalli won a Wilson racquet backpack.

All the players that were present received free restringing coupons.

"Hit With a Pro" Event - Update

Our "Hit With a Pro" event got underway at 10 AM as planned on Sunday August 1st at City Park. Coach Dan Dicke graciously donated some of his time to interact with the participants and gave us some great tips on improving our Tennis. He focussed on minimizing errors while playing from the baseline. We ran through some drills on getting the elevation above the net and landing the ball in the last quarter of the opponents court.

In summary Dan's message was "Always try to hit the ball to the last quarter of your opponents court even if you cant put enough spin or power on the ball. It is better to hit the ball behind the baseline rather than catching the net". After focussing hard on the drill we played a round robin style, super tie-break games against each other. Hit With a Pro Event

We gave away some goodies courtesy of GolfSmith Tennis at the end of the event. A big thank you to Coach Dan Dicke and all the members who participated in the event. It was a lot of fun!!
